Season 1, Episode 02 –
Bethan is still lying to her school friends about her troubled home life. But as her friendship with popular girl Poppy grows, it quickly becomes all she can think about. After a difficult trip to the hospital to visit her mother, and with her father’s alcoholism taking over, her Nana asks Bethan if she’d like to move in with her for a bit. At school the next day Bethan receives a distressing phone call from the hospital, she lies to her teacher and runs out of school in a panic to race to her mother’s side. In the aftermath she tells her Nana that she wants to stay in Cardiff where her Mum is – but most importantly where Poppy is.
